Understicker is free for people looking for a car. We make money from companies that pay for a Featured listing.

What paying changes

A Featured listing gets more active offers at once, a longer description, the company's best live offer shown next to its name in lists, a report of views and contact clicks, and first position among companies with the same or a lower Score.

• A fuller company page: a cover image, a gallery, a video, a longer description.
• More active offers at once, and featured used stock in the "Used … instead" block.

What paying never changes

Paying does not change a company's Score. The Score is calculated the same way for every company, by a formula we publish. A paying company is never placed above a company with a higher Score. We never remove or hide a company because it does not pay, and we never add one because it does.

• Verification. Confirming a company page is free, and it is the same work whether or not the company pays us.

Ad slots. We do not run display advertising today: no page shows an ad slot, and none reserves space for one. If that changes, slots will appear only in places marked as advertising, and this page will say so before the first ad runs.

No affiliate commission on deals. We are not a party to any sale. We do not take a cut of the car, the finance or the lease, and we have no incentive to push one offer over another.

We are not a seller. Every price on this site comes either from the company's own public listing, with the date we last checked it, or from the company itself, marked "Sent by the company". We do not call companies to confirm a price, and we do not negotiate prices. Terms are theirs; the listing is ours.

How offers get here

Most offers are collected from the structured data companies publish on their own websites, and a person checks them before they go live. Some are sent to us by the company, and those are marked as sent by the company. Either way, the date we recorded is shown on every offer. Paying for a listing does not change how an offer is collected or how it is shown.

Labels

A paid placement is always labeled where it appears. If you see a placement you believe is paid and is not labeled, write to hello@understicker.com and we will fix it.

Every paid position carries the word Sponsored next to it, in the same place, on every page — not in a footnote and not on hover. Paid company cards also carry an amber Featured Partner badge.

In the page source, links from paid placements carry a sponsored nofollow attribute. That is not a courtesy to search engines — selling links that pass ranking signals is a link scheme, and it costs the whole domain, including the free listings of companies that never paid us anything.

Ask us to remove your page and we will remove it. Write to hello@understicker.com. We confirm that you are from the company, then take the page down within 10 business days.
