Terms of Use

Last updated October 15, 2026

Effective date: October 15, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and TrustGrow LLC, a California limited liability company, doing business as Understicker ("Understicker," "we," "us"). They apply to understicker.com and our newsletter. By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information.

1. What Understicker is

Understicker is a free catalog of auto brokers, car dealers, and car offers in Los Angeles County. We collect public information about companies and the offers they publish, organize it, and show it in one place.

2. What Understicker is not

  • We are not an auto broker, dealer, lender, or leasing company. We don't sell, lease, or finance cars.
  • We are not part of any deal. We don't negotiate for you, arrange deals, or pass your details to companies. When you call or visit a company, you deal with that company directly. Any agreement you make is between you and that company.
  • We don't earn money from deals. We don't receive a commission or a fee from any company based on calls, contacts, or sales.
  • We don't give advice. Nothing on Understicker is financial, legal, or tax advice, or a recommendation to buy or lease a specific car or to work with a specific company.

3. Company and offer information may be wrong or out of date

We work to keep information correct, but we can't promise that it is. Please read this section carefully.

  • Where company information comes from. Company pages are built from what companies publish about themselves and from public business listings we find through web search: the company's own website, public directories of dealers and brokers, and address data from the United States Census geocoder. We do not use California DMV records. These sources can be wrong or out of date, and we can make mistakes when copying them.
  • Descriptions. Some descriptions on company and car pages are written with automated tools, using the facts we collected. They can contain mistakes. If you find one, please tell us.
  • Where offers come from. Offers come from the companies themselves. We collect them from the structured data companies publish on their own websites, or a company sends its offers to us. A person checks each one before it goes live. Each offer shows its source and the date we received it.
  • Offers expire. Companies change or end offers at any time, often without notice. An offer may be gone by the time you call.
  • Prices shown are not the full price. Unless an offer says otherwise, prices and payments don't include taxes, title, registration, dealer fees, or other charges. Lease offers usually require approved credit, often at the top credit tier. They may carry extra charges at the end of the lease, such as fees for extra miles or wear.
  • Only the company can confirm. Before you make any decision, confirm the price, terms, availability, and license status directly with the company.
  • No guarantee. We don't guarantee that any information on Understicker is accurate, complete, or current. We don't guarantee that any company will honor any offer shown here.

4. The Score

Each company page shows a Score from 0 to 100.

How it works.

  • The Score comes from checks we can run on public information. Today there are two of them: how complete the company's listing details are, and how current its published offers are. Our explanation at understicker.com/how-we-rate describes each check, what it measures, and where the information comes from.
  • A company that hasn't confirmed its details with us can score up to 90. A company that has confirmed can score up to 100. Confirming is free.
  • We calculate every Score with the same formula. We don't change any company's Score by hand, and there is no way to do so. When information is wrong, we correct the information, and the Score is recalculated.
  • If we change how the Score works, or add a check, we update our explanation with the date of the change and recalculate the Scores of all companies at the same time.

What the Score is not.

  • It is not a rating of a company's quality, honesty, prices, or service.
  • It is not a review, an endorsement, or a guarantee.
  • It does not come from customer reviews or star ratings on any other website. We don't republish those.
  • A lower Score usually means only that we have less information published about the company. It doesn't mean the company did anything wrong.
  • A company that hasn't confirmed its details is not a worse company. It just hasn't confirmed them yet.

The Score reflects the information we had on the date it was calculated. It can change when the information changes.

Money doesn't change the Score. A company's Score is calculated the same way whether or not it pays us or works with us as a partner. A paid or partner placement is always labeled, and it appears first among companies with a similar Score. It never changes the Score itself, and it never moves a company past companies with a higher Score.

5. For companies: fixing or removing your page

We listed companies without asking first. If your company is listed, you can fix or remove your page at any time.

Who can ask. An owner or employee of the company.

How we confirm it's really you. We may ask for an email from an address at your company's own website domain. Or we may call the phone number listed on the company's own website or a public business listing. We do this to stop other people from changing or removing your page.

Fixing information.

  • Tell us what's wrong at legal@understicker.com or through the form at understicker.com/claim.
  • Send proof if you have it.
  • We fix or remove the wrong item within 10 business days after we confirm your request. While we check, we may hide the item. A hidden item doesn't count toward the Score until we finish checking it.

Removing your page.

Ask us to remove your page and we will remove it. Write to hello@understicker.com. We confirm that you are from the company, then take the page down within 10 business days.

  • We don't charge for removal.
  • We don't ask you to buy anything, and we won't use your request to sell you anything.
  • We keep your company's name, license number, and website address on a do-not-list list, so we don't add you back by mistake. If you later want to be listed again, just ask.
  • Other websites and search engines may keep copies of your old page for a while. We will ask search engines to update where we can, but we don't control them.

Information you send us. If you send us information about your company, you confirm that it's true and that you have the right to share it. You give us permission to publish it on Understicker.

6. Sponsored and partner placements

Some companies may appear in highlighted spots, either because they pay us or because they share their offers with us as partners. We may also offer paid features, such as more offer slots, a cover image, and highlighted contact buttons. These placements are always labeled. They never change a company's Score or its place in our ranked lists. Paid placements are covered by a separate agreement with the company.

Phone numbers, websites, and other contact buttons on company pages connect you to the companies themselves, not to us. We count clicks on these buttons, as described in our Privacy Policy, but we don't take part in the call or visit. We are not responsible for other websites, or for what companies say or do.

8. How you may use Understicker

You may use Understicker for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. Please don't:

  • copy large parts of the site with automated tools to build a competing database or service;
  • republish Scores or offers in a way that changes their meaning or hides the date they were collected;
  • pretend to be a company or its employee;
  • send us false information about a company;
  • try to break into, overload, or interfere with the site;
  • use the site to send spam or harass anyone.

Search engines may crawl the site as allowed by our robots.txt file.

9. Content and trademarks

The site's design, text, Scores, and the way we organize information belong to Understicker. Car brands, company names, and trademarks belong to their owners. Showing them here doesn't mean those owners are connected to Understicker or endorse us.

If you think something on the site infringes your rights, write to legal@understicker.com.

10. Newsletter

The newsletter is free. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in every email. Offers in the newsletter come with the same limits described in section 3.

11. No warranties

Understicker is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises of any kind about the site or its information. That includes promises that the site is accurate, reliable, available without interruption, or fit for a particular purpose.

12. Limit on our liability

To the fullest extent the law allows:

  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost money or lost opportunities, that come from using Understicker or relying on its information. This includes a deal you make or don't make with any company.
  • Our total liability for any claim related to Understicker is limited to $100, or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, whichever is greater.

Some laws don't allow these limits. Where they don't, the limits apply only as far as the law allows. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud or for harm we cause on purpose.

13. Your responsibility to us

If you break these terms or send us false information, and that leads to a claim against us, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of that claim, including reasonable lawyer's fees.

14. Disputes

  • Talk to us first. Before starting any legal claim, write to legal@understicker.com and describe the problem. We will try to resolve it within 30 days.
  • Which law applies. California law governs these terms, without regard to rules that would apply another state's law.
  • Where. Any claim goes to the state or federal courts in Los Angeles County, California. You may also bring a claim in small claims court if it qualifies.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change is significant, we will say so on the home page before it takes effect. If you keep using Understicker after a change, the new terms apply to you.

16. Other terms

  • If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
  • If we don't enforce a term right away, we can still enforce it later.
  • These terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about using the site. A separate agreement for paid placements, once we offer them, will apply alongside these terms.

17. Notice for California users

Under California Civil Code Section 1789.3, California users are entitled to this notice. The Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs can be reached in writing at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or by phone at (916) 445-1254 or (800) 952-5210.
