Car Brokers in Los Angeles
This page lists brokers who help you sort out lease, finance, and cash offers on new vehicles without doing all the legwork yourself. If you know roughly what you want but not which dealer has it, or you'd rather have someone negotiate on your behalf, this is the place to start comparing who's available.
Brokers differ in how they operate. Some work across many brands and body styles, others focus on a narrower set of manufacturers. Some handle lease structuring and trade-ins directly, others mainly connect you to inventory and let you finalize terms yourself. Before picking one, check what services they actually offer and whether they can source the specific make and model you're after.
One limitation worth noting: a broker's reach depends on their dealer relationships, so availability on any given vehicle can vary from one broker to the next.

No, a broker is optional. But if a business does act as an intermediary in a retail vehicle sale, California requires it to be a licensed vehicle dealer holding a specific autobroker's endorsement on that dealer license before it can broker the deal.
Not really. Getting an autobroker's endorsement subjects the dealer to all of the same licensing, advertising, and other statutory and regulatory requirements that apply to any vehicle dealer, so a broker isn't operating under a lighter rulebook. The endorsement adds obligations on top of standard dealer rules rather than replacing them.
California law requires any dealer brokering a sale to deposit purchase money it receives from a consumer or the consumer's lender directly into a trust account, and that account must be held at a bank, savings and loan, or credit union regulated by the state or federal government. This trust-account rule exists specifically because deposits pass through a third party in a brokered deal, which is a step a direct sale doesn't involve.
A licensed autobroker must maintain a log for each brokered sale that records the vehicle's VIN, the date of the brokering agreement, the selling dealer's name and dealer number, the buyer's name, and the brokering dealer's own name and number. That log stays the property of the DMV and can be pulled for inspection at any time.
The DMV maintains an Occupational License Status system that is updated daily and covers vehicle dealers, including those holding an autobroker endorsement, so you can look up a business's status before working with it. Checking this doesn't tell you anything about pricing or deal quality, only whether the business is currently authorized to broker sales.
